ALBANY FRIENDS of MUSIC
The Albany Friends of Music is a volunteer organization of parents, teachers, and community members who support music education in the Albany City Schools. Our mission is to promote music education at all levels by raising revenues to provide state-of-the-art music programs and to open up greater music education opportunities for all students. All contributions will help support Albany’s music education programs. We plan to:
· provide financial assistance for musical events and field trips.
· fund a Music Technology Lab at Albany High School.
· purchase musical instruments and other equipment for student use.
· promote opportunities for the Albany community to share the benefits of our students’ musical talents.

The Albany Fund for Education is collecting musical instruments to put in the hands of Albany’s students. All donated instruments will be refurbished and restored to playing condition before given to a child.
Recycle a Musical Instrument You No Longer Need!
New and used instruments (with the exception of pianos and organs) will be gratefully accepted. We especially need student-sized band and orchestra instruments. You can drop off your instrument before the end of the school year to John Lenio, Fine Arts Office, 395 Elk Street, 3rd Floor, Albany, NY 12206- (518)475-6568. Or Kate Wright, Fine Arts Supervisor at (518)475-6554.
OR email [email protected] and we will pick up your instrument.
